Scripture: Philippians 4:6

Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.

Paul connects gratitude directly to grace. The Greek word for thanksgiving, eucharista, contains charis—grace. Gratitude flows from remembering what we’ve received that we didn’t deserve.

Our joy doesn’t come from having everything we want; it comes from knowing what we’ve been saved from. Grace reminds us that no circumstance can undo what Christ has already done. Prison didn’t steal Paul’s joy because grace anchored it.

When gratitude is rooted in grace, it becomes unshakeable. Even in lack, even in waiting, even in pain—we give thanks because God has already been faithful.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for Your grace—freely given, undeserved, and life-changing. Let my gratitude flow from remembering what You’ve done for me. Amen.
