Scripture:
“Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit.” — Luke 23:46 (NIV)
Reflection:
Jesus’ final words from the cross are stunning: “Into Your hands I commit my spirit.” Just moments earlier, He had screamed, “Why have You forsaken me?” That tension is something we all face: questioning God, yet still choosing to trust Him.
This is what mature faith looks like—not a lack of questions, but a willingness to trust even when we don’t understand.
When it feels like God is silent, when prayers seem unanswered, when healing doesn’t come—trust His heart. His silence doesn’t mean His absence. His delays are not His denials.
Faith says: God, I don’t like this, but I trust You.
God, this hurts—but I believe You’re good.
God, I don’t see the way through—but I place my life in Your hands.
He is always worthy of your trust, even when nothing makes sense.
Prayer:
Father, I don’t always understand what You’re doing. But like Jesus, I commit myself into Your hands. Teach me to trust Your heart when I cannot trace Your hand. Amen.
