“She just so happened to glean in Boaz’s field…”

Ruth didn’t know how God would provide. She only knew she couldn’t give up. So she worked. She gleaned. And the Bible says it “just so happened” that she ended up in Boaz’s field.

What looked like chance was actually God’s providence. The same is true for you. The job you didn’t expect, the conversation that seemed ordinary, the door that opened at just the right time—all of it may be part of God’s unseen plan.

Faith in uncertainty looks like obedience in the ordinary. Ruth didn’t sell herself short; she stayed faithful in the small things. And in those ordinary steps, God positioned her for extraordinary redemption.

Reflection: Are you in a season of uncertainty? What small step of faithfulness can you take today, trusting God’s unseen hand?

Prayer:

God, in my uncertainty, give me courage to keep showing up. Help me trust that even what feels small can be used for Your glory. Amen.
