It Just So Happened

Scripture:

“So Ruth went out to gather grain behind the harvesters. And as it happened, she found herself working in a field that belonged to Boaz.” – Ruth 2:3

Reflection:

One of the most beautiful phrases in the book of Ruth is: “As it happened.” What looked like coincidence was actually providence. God was orchestrating details that Ruth couldn’t see. That’s what providence is—God using ordinary circumstances to accomplish His extraordinary plan.

You may feel like you’re just “happening” through life, but God is at work. Every delay, every conversation, every closed and open door is part of His bigger picture. Romans 8:28 reminds us: “In all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” Even the chapters you don’t like are setting up the blessings you need.

Application:

What “just so happened” moment in your life can you thank God for today? And where do you need to trust Him more fully? Don’t confuse God’s silence with His absence—He’s working behind the scenes.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for Your providence in my life. Help me trust You even when I can’t see the plan. I believe You’re working all things together for good. Amen.
