Scripture:

“Your people will be my people, and your God my God.” – Ruth 1:16

Reflection:

Ruth’s journey began with a decision to leave her old life and follow the God of Israel. That was her moment of salvation. But Pastor Cory reminded us: repentance isn’t a one-time event; it’s a lifestyle. We often think repentance is just about saying “sorry,” but it’s really about continually turning away from sin and turning toward God.

When Naomi’s family left Bethlehem for Moab, they justified their move instead of trusting God. How easy is it for us to do the same—justify choices that take us out of God’s will because we’re worried, afraid, or trying to control the outcome? That’s why daily repentance matters. It keeps our hearts aligned with His.

Application:

Ask yourself: Am I living in Bethlehem or Moab? Are there areas where I’ve drifted from God and started justifying my choices? Today is the day to turn back. Repentance is an ongoing invitation to experience God’s redeeming love.

Prayer:

Father, forgive me for the times I’ve tried to control my own life instead of trusting You. Help me walk in daily repentance, turning from what was and stepping into what You have for me. Amen.
