Leaving Moab Behind

"So the two women went on until they came to Bethlehem…" -- Ruth 1:19
Sometimes repentance is loud--a moment of confession, tears, and transformation. But sometimes, it's quiet. Just two women walking a dusty road from Moab to Bethlehem. No fireworks. Just steps. Ordinary, faithful steps.
Ruth and Naomi begin their return journey--not knowing what's waiting. They leave graves, regret, and old identities behind. Step by step, they move toward hope.
Repentance isn't just saying "I'm sorry"--it's reorienting your direction. It's choosing to walk toward the house of bread again. It's not always easy. The road is long, and shame likes to whisper. But God isn't standing at the gates with condemnation--He's watching the road, waiting to welcome you home.
You don't have to know the whole plan. You just have to take the next faithful step.
Reflection:
What does it look like for me to leave Moab behind?
Are there old identities, habits, or lies I need to walk away from?
Am I willing to take the next step toward God, even if it's slow?
Prayer:
God, I want to return to You--not just in theory, but in practice. Show me the steps I need to take to leave Moab behind. Help me walk away from compromise and toward wholeness. Thank You for grace that welcomes me back, step by step. Amen.
