Scripture: Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
From the very beginning, God has been an intentional Creator. He shaped galaxies with His word, painted mountains into existence, and formed humanity with His hands. And yet, among all He has made, you are His masterpiece.
The Greek word used here is poiema, meaning “a work of art” or “a creation with a designated purpose.” It’s where we get our word poetry. You are not random. You are not a mistake. You are God’s poetic expression to the world, handcrafted with care, designed to reflect His love, and purposed for good works that only you can accomplish.
But maybe you’ve struggled to believe that. Maybe your past failures or current doubts have clouded your view of what God sees in you. Pastor Cory reminded us this week that our identity isn’t in what we’ve done — it’s in what Christ has done. God sees beyond your insecurities, beyond your sin, beyond your shame. He sees what He designed: a life redeemed and released to walk in purpose.
You were created with divine intention. You carry eternal value. The question isn’t whether you’re good enough — it’s whether you’ll trust that God’s grace is.
Prayer: Father, thank You for creating me with purpose. Help me see myself through Your eyes — not as a failure or mistake, but as Your masterpiece. Show me the good works You’ve prepared, and give me courage to walk in them. Amen.
