Romans 6:4 (NLT)

“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”

Reflection:

Baptism is more than a church tradition—it’s a declaration of identity and rescue. When you went under the water, it symbolized your old life being buried, your sin washed away, and your brokenness left behind. And when you came up, it declared to the world: I have been rescued, and I now live a new life through Christ.

But if we’re honest, life doesn’t always feel brand new. We stumble. We wrestle with doubt, temptation, and old patterns that cling to us. That’s when we need the reminder baptism offers: rescue isn’t based on your performance—it’s anchored in what Jesus already did.

Your past doesn’t define you. Your failures don’t disqualify you. Your new life is secure because of His death and resurrection. So when shame whispers that you’re still stuck, silence it with the truth: I’ve been rescued, and I’m walking in new life, even on the hard days.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for rescuing me. Help me live in the freedom You’ve given me. Remind me that even when I stumble, I am still Yours, washed clean and made new. Amen.
