Seen before you saw it

There are moments in life when someone sees something in us that we can’t yet see in ourselves. Those moments stay with us because they speak to our God-given potential, not our present insecurity. Often, God uses trusted voices—pastors, mentors, friends—to remind us of who we are becoming, even when we feel unsure.
The danger is not that criticism hurts; it’s that we allow the wrong voices to shape our confidence. Confidence rooted in random opinions will always be fragile. But confidence grounded in God’s voice is steady, resilient, and life-giving.
God sees you clearly. He sees who you are and who you’re becoming. When you hold to hope, you learn to anchor your confidence not in applause or approval, but in the truth that God is already at work in you.
Scripture: “The Lord looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7
Reflection: Whose voice has been shaping your confidence lately?
Prayer: God, help me trust Your voice above all others. Teach me to see myself the way You see me.
