The Fifth Gospel

Scripture: Matthew 5:16

Most people can name the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

But in a sense, there is a “fifth gospel” still being written today.

It’s the story people read when they watch your life.

The Gospels record what Jesus did during His earthly ministry. But the world is still watching what Jesus is doing through His followers today. Every act of kindness, every moment of forgiveness, every expression of faith in hardship becomes part of that story.

For many people, your life may be the closest thing they ever see to the message of Christ.

That’s why belief matters so deeply. If we claim to believe in the Gospel but live as though we don’t need it, the message becomes confusing to the watching world.

But when people see faith lived out — when they see peace in anxiety, forgiveness after betrayal, and hope in difficulty — they begin to notice something different.

Your life becomes a testimony.

Your choices become a message.

Your faith becomes visible.

Today, ask yourself: What story is my life telling about Jesus?

Because someone is reading it.

Prayer:

Father, help my life reflect Your goodness. Let the way I live point people to Jesus and show them the hope that comes from knowing You. Amen.
