Scripture: John 14:6 (NIV)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

In a world that values inclusion and options, Jesus’ words in John 14:6 can sound harsh. “No one comes to the Father except through me.” That’s not just bold — it’s offensive to many. You can talk about “God” in a general sense and most people won’t blink. But mention Jesus as the only way, and tension rises.

Pastor Cory acknowledged this discomfort — it’s not how Jesus lived or loved that causes people to doubt Christianity. It’s what He claimed.

Jesus didn’t claim to be a way. He claimed to be the way. That kind of exclusivity sounds narrow. But what if it’s not about exclusion — what if it’s about invitation? What if the most inclusive truth is that God Himself made a way, and that way has a name?

Every worldview has boundaries — even the ones that claim to accept all truths. But only one Savior gave His life to bridge the divide between a holy God and broken humanity. His claim is strong — but so is His love.

So today, if you wrestle with the exclusive nature of Jesus’ words, don’t shut down the journey. Lean in. Doubt can coexist with curiosity. And Jesus can handle your questions.

Prayer: Jesus, sometimes Your words challenge me. Help me to listen, to wrestle honestly, and to trust that Your way isn’t narrow-minded — it’s wide with love and truth. Amen.
