Does this house matter?

Scripture: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” — Acts 2:42
When Paul and Silas entered Philippi, they met Lydia, a woman whose open heart led to an open home. Her house became one of the first church gatherings in Europe. A quiet living room became holy ground where lives were changed, prayers were lifted, and people discovered belonging.
It’s easy to underestimate what God can do through ordinary spaces — a kitchen table, a coffee shop, a Sunday school room. But every time believers gather around the name of Jesus, something supernatural happens. The Church isn’t just a building; it’s a movement of transformed people creating space for others to encounter God.
Pastor Cory reminded us that “the church matters because people matter.” When we gather, God forms us. When we scatter, God uses us. Your presence in the church — in worship, in prayer, in community — becomes part of the story God is writing to transform the world.
Reflection:
What if your “house,” your heart, your routine could be the next place God uses to reach someone new? Don’t underestimate the sacred power of showing up.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for the gift of belonging to Your Church. Use me to make Your house a place of welcome and transformation. Let my life reflect the grace and truth of Your presence wherever I go. Amen.
