Scripture: “We must obey God rather than men.” – Acts 5:29

When something grows, the temptation is to protect it. But the church was never meant to live in preservation mode. The early believers risked everything — their safety, their comfort, their reputation — because they valued advancing God’s kingdom more than preserving their own security.

As Pastor Cory said, “We have more to lose than ever before, but we also have more potential than ever before.” Living open-handed means trusting that what we risk for God is never wasted. It’s how revival begins — when we stop clutching what we have and start giving God everything.

So, don’t play it safe. Don’t drift into maintenance mode. Keep taking bold steps of faith, trusting that God knows the heart, multiplies the risk, and uses it to change lives.

Reflection: What area of your life might you be “preserving” instead of advancing for God’s glory?

Prayer: Lord, keep me from settling for comfort. Make me bold to risk, give, and go so that others might find belonging in You.
