Scripture: Romans 12:2a (ESV)

“Do not be conformed to this world…”

Conformity is subtle. You don’t even realize it’s happening until one day you look in the mirror and wonder, Why do I feel so distant from God?

The world doesn’t have to shout to shape us — it just needs to be consistent. Through pressure, distraction, or slow compromise, it molds us unless we resist. As Taylor Fendley said, “Con means with — don’t be ‘with’ the world.”

The call of Romans 12 is a call to resistance — not with anger, but with holiness. You’re not supposed to look like everyone else. You’re not supposed to carry the same values, chase the same dreams, or speak with the same bitterness. You are not being shaped by the crowd — you are being reshaped by Christ.

Is there an area of your life where you’ve slowly been conforming — becoming more like the culture than the Creator?

Prayer: God, open my eyes to where I’m conforming to the world. Give me courage to live differently — to be shaped by Your truth, not the patterns around me. Transform me from within. Amen.
