Doubt Is an Invitation, Not a Disqualification

*This devo goes along with our sermon series Faith - A Journey through Doubt, which can be watched here.
Day 1:
Real faith isn’t the absence of doubts — it’s what we do in the presence of them. Doubts don’t disqualify you from following Jesus. Instead, they often act as invitations: invitations to lean in, to wrestle, and to come to know God more deeply.
Many people panic when doubts arise, assuming something is wrong. But Jesus never shamed doubters; He simply met them where they were and called them forward. When Peter doubted while walking on the water, Jesus immediately reached out His hand. He didn’t let Peter sink in his shame — He lifted him up.
Our goal isn’t to pretend doubts don’t exist; it’s to allow God to use them to deepen our relationship with Him. When we push through questions, we often emerge with a stronger, more resilient faith — a faith that’s real, tested, and mature.
Prayer:
“God, thank You that You are not afraid of my questions. Help me to see doubts as opportunities to grow closer to You. Strengthen my faith as I seek Your heart. Amen.”
Reflection Question:
When doubts arise, do I run from God or run toward Him? How can I practice bringing my doubts to Jesus this week? Want to go deeper? Explore this week's sermon in a small group, at family dinner, or with a friend over coffee. Download the Discussion Guide here.
