The Lord Enables (Ruth 4:13)

“The Lord enabled her…”
When Ruth married Boaz, it wasn’t just a happy ending—it was the Lord’s doing. The text emphasizes that the Lord enabled. Different translations say He gave, He granted, He blessed. However you phrase it, the point is the same: every good gift comes from God.
What you long for—a breakthrough, healing, provision, peace—may come through people or circumstances, but the true source is always the Lord. He is the One who enables, provides, restores, and redeems.
That’s why we don’t place our hope in the field, the paycheck, or even the Boaz. We place our hope in the God who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Eph. 3:20).
Reflection: Do you recognize God’s hand in your blessings? What would it look like for you to thank Him as the true source, not just the means?
Prayer:
Lord, remind me that every blessing comes from You. Teach me to see Your hand at work in my life and to give You the glory. Amen.
